Well over 40 vendors turned out to offer brides and their friends and families advice, services, exclusive discounts and more. Thank you to the experts, artists and designers that made this event a success; we couldn’t have hosted POP without you.
We’re also grateful for the special guests. Wedding expert David Tutera made it out, as well as world renowned designers Ines Di Santo and Maria Elena. Our celebrity guests included newlyweds Mario and Courtney Lopez.
Duke Photography and Yitzhak Dalal of Dalal Photography were kind enough to snap and share more than 500 photos from the event (below), and Walter Pawluk was on-site videotaping; we look forward to seeing the final video. Enjoy our recap of vendors, celebrity guests, and the experts panel below. For your convenience, we’ve included credits. This type of work isn’t something we see often. Bethany Thomas, local artist and owner of Commemory® Fine Art, gives couples a uniquely personal way to infuse their love story throughout their wedding by creating custom paintings on canvas as decor. What a beautiful idea!
Ceremony backdrops, wedding dress paintings, art on the guestbook table, and (dinner, cake) table art are just a few of the options Commemory® offers. Fine art gives couples a lasting way to remember their wedding day, and will last a lifetime as home decor after the wedding. This is something that truly is worth the investment, and will outlive your wedding day for years and years to come.
Bonus: Bethany has a special surprise in store tomorrow at POP! She will be giving away a custom wedding dress painting to one lucky bride! (May we enter?)
Enjoy some of this trailblazer’s art below; we know you’ll fall in love with it. One of our favorites: the guestbook painting.
“Dádiva” in Portuguese means “gift.” So, Dádiva Shop literally means “The Goddess’ Gift Shop.” It’s a very appropriate name, and you’ll see why once you view the photos of some of their products below.
Dádiva specializes in sentimental and unique gifts to celebrate life’s many milestones. Pieces include heirloom-quality and customizable jewelry, and one of their specialties – luxury embroidered décor pillows. Other unique products include apparel and wine glasses.
At POP, Dádiva Shop will début one of its most popular pillows, The Armenian Wedding Blessing, as a ring bearer pillow. The company’s also offering something special for POP attendees: special discounts and offers along with any purchases. Here’s a peek at some of what Dádiva offers; click on any image to view the product on their website. Enjoy!
Anoush Catering, established in 1986, provides full service Mediterranean catering for a variety of events. As noted on their site, they are “Dedicated to excellence in food quality, preparation and presentation, and imaginative décor.”
The company offers a brilliant selection of tantalizing international foods, including a wide range of options such as Persian, Armenian or Lebanese catering. Anoush promises to create an amazing culinary experience for your guests; that’s quite the promise!
People love this company. Wrote one reviewer on Yelp, “The service was superb and [there were] so many different types of food to try.” Another review wrote, “I can’t not express their hospitality. They will bend over backwards for you.”
And Christian of Anoush took some time to share with us his number one wedding planning advice when it comes to selecting your food options: “Remember who you are and what you want. This is the best day to be selfish.”
Our mouths are watering! And yours will be, too, after seeing the photos below from their several of their stunning locations. Look for Anoush at POP Sunday, February 27!
Duke Khodaverdian is a highly respected name in the Southern California wedding industry, and if you view the photos below you’ll see why. His and his team’s talent is indisputable, and that’s why we’re thrilled Duke Photography is a part of POP, The Bridal Event!
Duke’s relentless pursuit to capture the best photos, combined with his friendly personality, discreet presence and quick thinking, make him a natural choice for brides and grooms on their wedding days.
This photographer and his team will leave your event having captured an abundance of glamorous, photojournalistic, and long-lasting memories. Says the business, “Duke views each wedding as a fresh and new assignment, striving to capture images that are unique to your wedding.” And surely not part of some cookie-cutter regimen.
One of Duke’s recognized specialties: lighting. An added bonus with his services: a keen eye to scout out the best locations essential to his original style in wedding photography.
We at POP are proud of our lineup of talent! Duke and his team have an eye for romance, beauty and love. We believe each of the following photos is a work of art, each worthy of being framed; decide for yourself.
The Burbank-based company was established “to delight clients with custom designed invitations for every occasion,” stated Sherry of Creative Works. Since 2005, the shop has offered premium invitations using the finest quality papers, embellishments and printing processes. It truly is “all in the details”; each piece of their stationery is somehow made special, whether if affixed with sparkle or artfully covered in feathers and pearls.
Brides love Creative Works. “Sherry is a visual person: all you have to do is show her a photo of what you want, and she will build your perfect stationery,” stated Christine on WeddingWire. One bride stated in her review that one of her guests said, “‘I have been to a million dollar wedding, and this invitation surpasses theirs.’ Sherry truly is an artist.”
The shop offers up an array of beautiful options sure to meet a client’s needs (we especially like their “couture” collection). Their hand-made invitations are enhanced by in-house graphic design talent, and are customized to reflect the personality, theme and style of each client and occasion.
What delights us is that there are so many artists involved with POP. The Los Angeles area is home to so much talent and love of weddings and special occasions. Enjoy photos of some of Creative Works Designs’ creations!
Even the smallest incorporation of calligraphy in a wedding can add a beautiful, distinguishing touch. That’s why Calligraphy Katrina and her Maison du Papier have been added to POP, The Bridal Event’s lineup of premiere vendors.
Calligraphy Katrina offers premium handwritten calligraphy and stationery services. The business promises to deliver the “classic beauty of hand-lettering in a modern age by adding an elegant touch of sophistication to every paper to complete your special event.”
Katrina’s talent permits her to finish projects with efficiency and grace – “for every stroke of her pen is a promise of pristine elegance only a professional calligrapher such as Katrina can perform,” stated the business.
She has earned accolades from numerous acclaimed brands and corporations (Chanel, Mercedes-Benz, TASCHEN, Chanel, etc.), and online blogs and magazines (The Knot, Brides, California Wedding Day, Style Me Pretty, Martha Stewart Weddings, etc.).
Katrina believes that calligraphy and custom stationery suites are the perfect marriage, so she added custom invitation and stationery design to her ever-growing menu of services. Subsequently, she established Maison du Papier (House of Paper), which offers the service of mass production.
Mass production allows the opportunity to design a dream stationery set with the help of Katrina by blending different color hues, combinations of paper textures, and a variety of printing techniques (like letterpress). Katrina works with her clients exclusively to create a master copy, then uses that as a template for mass production. This allows your stationery to be uniform and completed promptly without sacrificing quality – whether you order 10 or 10,000,000. Intensive quality control helps guarantee that your items arrive on your doorstep looking just as you imagined them.
It’s evident that Katrina and her team are inspired. See some of Katrina’s work below, and be sure to visit the calligrapher at POP on February 17, 2013!
